The Lake Superior Circle Tour’s Stunning Blue Waters and High Cliffs
The journey around Lake Superior, the biggest freshwater lake in the world (by area), is one of Ontario’s most spectacular and breathtaking drives.
The amazing 2,092 kilometres make up the Lake Superior Circle Tour. It is not even close to being the longest drive in Ontario on our list. It is kind of a cheat, though. You see, a portion of the Lake Superior Circle Tour travels through the American states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Lacking a passport? No issue! It’s equally simple to turn around and head back toward the border, searching for fresh and distinctive views of Lake Superior. RV travellers in Ontario should use this route, which is still a long 767 kilometres one trip.
A journey through the Lake Superior Circle will reveal tremendous geographical changes because of all the road that must be travelled. Lighthouses, waterfalls, glistening lakes, and impossibly high cliffs will all be visible. And all of these will be peppered with some of the most intriguing historical markers along the routes. These include the stunning native pictographs found on Agawa Rock.

Ferries and Fishing Towns Along the Georgian Bay Coastal Route
One of the most challenging drives in Ontario is the Georgian Bay Coastal Route. The 1,350-kilometer journey visits some of the province’s most stunning and easily accessible Great Lakes shorelines.
Not only are the sights, sceneries, and clear seas of Georgian Bay shoreline what make the Georgian Bay coastline route so spectacular, but also the leisurely pace of travelling through some of Ontario’s most picture-perfect small communities.
Within the southeast corner of Lake Huron is Georgian Bay. The coastline route also passes by some of the most significant areas of the Ontario heartland, including Manitoulin Island, Sudbury, Killarney, and the Bruce Peninsula.
Watch out for amazing Ontario lighthouses like Big Tub Lighthouse in Tobermory and Kagawong Lighthouse on Manitoulin Island as you cruise the Georgian Bay coastline path.

The drive from Niagara Falls to Pelee Island includes Canada’s southernmost point
You should obtain an Ontario Provincial Park pass before embarking on another one of Southwestern Ontario’s most scenic drives. Driving along the shoreline of Lake Erie from Niagara Falls to Pelee Island will take you through some of the most stunning agricultural area in the province.
You’ll pass by some of southern Ontario’s most stunning parks along this Lake Erie coastline trail, including Point Pelee National Park, Turkey Point, Long Point National Wildlife Area, Rondeau Park, Hillman Marsh, and, of course, the southernmost point in Canada.
On this most southern drive in Ontario, you’ll encounter more than simply the natural world. Additionally, you’ll pass through some of the province’s most picturesque towns, including Port Stanley and Leamington.
Make sure you have a big appetite as well because there are a tonne of roadside food vendors, farm markets, and numerous small, independently owned eateries along this Ontario route that serve the region’s famed perch platters.
A boat excursion to Pelee Island, the province’s most southern wine area, is the best way to round off your drive down to the border town of Windsor, Ontario, where you may tour some of its amazing neighbourhoods including the Ford City neighbourhood

On the Long Sault Parkway, cruise between lovely islands
One of the most scenic drives in Southwestern Ontario and one of the most unusual locations in the province is the Long Sault Parkway, which skirts from island to island between the villages of Ingleside and Long Sault.
This St. Lawrence River drive bounces through 12 separate islands, making for an Instagram-worthy journey. The Parks of the St. Lawrence provide some of the greatest camping opportunities in the province. Along the journey, reward yourself with some delectable cuisine from small-town Ingleside and Long Sault. I heartily endorse the pizza at Long Sault’s Water View.
Despite the short distance of the Long Sault Parkway, there are several spots to stop for a picnic along the way. SCUBA divers who want to explore some of the shipwrecks in the St. Lawrence River frequently visit this location.
Be sure to remain to experience some of the renowned island chain sunsets. Also, if you come during Canada Day, get ready for one of the finest displays of fireworks in a tiny town in the province!
